Speaking of grok talks in conjunction with DDD 5, there’s also a meeting of the London .NET User Group coming up on Feb 22nd, that focuses on grok talks on Windows Vista and Office 2007. Last I heard, Ian was still looking for attendees as well as volunteers for the grok talks themselves, so if you want to be there or even help out, be sure to let him know!
June 30th, 2007 it’s going to be. Session proposals are not accepted yet, that is planned for March. I expect sooner or later there’ll also be an “official” announcement on the DDD web page, so this is just a first heads-up. One thing that was first tested at DDD 4 were the grok talks in the lunch breaks, and as they were a great success, the organizers are planning to keep them up. So if you’ve never spoken at such an event before, and a 1 hour sessions seems rather to you, consider coming up …
At the London .NET User Group, I did a session last Thursday about validity checking. This was based on a library I had written a rather long time ago, and I promised to make not only the slides and samples from the session, but also the library itself available for everyone to download. So here it is.
The slides, the samples and the library including source code
I’m releasing the library itself under the GNU Lesser General Public License, which basic …
DDD 4 is over and as everybody has already blogged, it was a great success again (at least I haven’t seen anybody say anything else). The feedback form is up and if you were there, we’d really like you to fill it out — that way you can make sure it’s going to be even better next time! Another thing worth mentioning is the aggregation of DDD 4 related blog articles here — go have a look if you’re interested what others have to say.

One of my sessions has been selected for DDD 4, that much I’ve known for a few weeks. Problem was, I thought I’d lost the original notification email in a server crash, so for a while I couldn’t be 100% sure what that session was, given that I had submitted several sessions to the voting. Talking to a number of people, I passed on what I was pretty sure was the correct information, that the session in question was titled “Object/Relational Mapping in real-world applications”. Turns out several …
Now’s the time for you to take part in the decision for the agenda of DDD day 4 — voting opened today. Click here to vote for your favorite sessions!
I was just going to start submitting sessions for DDD 4 and I found a new restriction in place: DDD 4 speaker submission is only open to UK residents. As you may or may not know, I do live in the UK, so this doesn’t shut me out or anything — I just happen to find it a pretty rude decision, considering that speakers from other countries have been allowed to take part in previous DDD events, and they did so on their own expense. What do you think? I can come up with a few ideas about the rea …
DeveloperDeveloperDeveloper day 4 has just been announced, and it is already possible to submit sessions. I’m a little pressed for time right now, but I’ll certainly submit a number of sessions later.
