In case you haven’t heard about it before, the event takes place on May 23rd at Microsoft Thames Valley Park in Reading. Rafal Lukawiecki, who was voted best TechEd speaker for 7 years running, is the headline speaker. He does two sessions, and he’s joined by other interesting speakers like Lorna Brown from Microsoft Research, Mike Taulty and Daniel Moth from Microsoft’s development and platform group, and of course the NxtGenUG guys themselves, with John, Richard an …

[BANNER REMOVED]

There it is. If you want to create multi-platform (currently Windows Forms and ASP.NET) applications fast, be sure to have a look at beta 1 of the eXpressApp Framework. Here’s the official announcement, which also has some information on pricing.

I’m going to be a speaker at Basta! in Germany, talking about the role of the model in Developer ExpresseXpressApp Framework generated applications. XAF is obviously our implementation of the general idea, but this is not supposed to be a sales pitch — the idea is generally usable, whether you like XAF or not. I got some very positive feedback about this after doing a similar thing at DDD day 3 a few weeks back. Developer Express will also be exhibiting there, so this is the perfect time to …

Just a short notice, the official announcement will go out soon: Have a look at this page, the new CTP 2 of eXpressApp Framework is available right now. Ian asked me to definitely come back and do another talk sometime, so I guess it’s going to happen. Were you there? Did you like it? Did you think it was horrible? Please feel free to leave comme …

I have recently published a few more XPO related posts on the new Developer Express community site. Previously I have sometimes posted XPO stuff on this blog, and these posts are now all eaten up by the DX site — so I thought I’d let you know if you’re watching this space and not the DX community site. Here are the posts I wrote:

This has been announced today: There’s a Developer Express site now for blogs written by people working for the company. This is it: community.devexpress.com I have published two posts there so far, related to the newest major release of XPO (6.1): “Session Management and Caching” and “My persistent classes are real classes — or not?”. …
